Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is a 2022 British-American musical fantasy comedy film directed by Matthew Warchus and adapted from the 1988 novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The film stars Ruby Barnhill, Emma Thompson, and Miranda Hart in the lead roles.

The story follows Matilda, an extraordinary young girl from an ordinary family, who discovers she has the power of telekinesis. With the help of her teacher Miss Honey, Matilda takes on the evil headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, to bring justice to her unjust world.

The film features original songs from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of the musical, as well as new material from composers Tim Minchin and Matthew Warchus. The film also features a star-studded cast, including Emma Thompson, Miranda Hart, and Rik Mayall.
