About the Movie

Pet Sematary is a 1989 American supernatural horror film directed by Mary Lambert and written by Stephen King. It is based on the 1983 novel of the same name by King. The film stars Dale Midkiff as Louis Creed, Denise Crosby as Rachel Creed, Blaze Berdahl as Ellie Creed, Miko Hughes as Gage Creed, and Fred Gwynne as Jud Crandall.

After the death of their young daughter, Gage, the Creed family moves from Chicago to rural Maine. There, Jud Crandall, their kindly neighbor, introduces them to the “Pet Sematary”, a place where dead animals are buried and sometimes come back to life. When Gage is tragically killed, Louis buries him in the Sematary, against Jud’s advice. But Gage comes back…different. As the Creed family confronts an evil far beyond their understanding, they find that sometimes, dead is better.
