About the Movie

Dead Man is a 1996 American Western film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. It stars Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer, Billy Bob Thornton, Iggy Pop, Crispin Glover, John Hurt, Michael Wincott, and Robert Mitchum. The film, dubbed “a psychedelic Western”, follows the journey of a man (Depp) after he is mistakenly killed and scalped by a bounty hunter (Thornton). He wanders through the wilderness with the help of a Native American named “Nobody” (Farmer), encountering strange characters along the way.

Dead Man received mixed reviews from critics. However, many praised Depp’s performance and Jarmusch’s direction. The film was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival.
