Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is a 2009 American live-action/computer-animated musical comedy film directed by Betty Thomas. It is the sequel to the 2007 film Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was based on the characters of the same name created by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. in 1958. The film stars Zachary Levi, David Cross, Jason Lee, and Justin Long.
Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back and taking the music world by storm in this fun and fast-paced sequel. After a performance at the Grammy Awards, the Chipmunks return home only to discover that their beloved manager, Dave, has suddenly passed away. Feeling lost and alone, they find themselves at the mercy of their new manager, Ian, who is more interested in making money off of them than he is in taking care of them.
The Chipmunks soon discover that Ian is only using them and is planning to get rid of them as soon as he makes enough money. With the help of their new friend, Jeanette, they must put aside their differences and work together to get rid of Ian and get back to making music.
